A warm cup of coffee after the commute. Rooibos ready for your mid-morning break. Your Core flask makes it easy to bring a favourite drink along, and a few simple filling habits help that warmth last.
How does your Core flask keep a drink hot?
The PurePop Core Series uses two walls with a vacuum gap between them. This slows heat moving from your drink to its surroundings, helping your coffee or tea stay warm as you go about your day.
The drink’s starting temperature, how fully you fill the flask and how often you open it all play a part. The construction is explained in our guide to how vacuum insulation works.
Five habits for a warmer drink
1. Give the inside a warm start
For the Core Series, carefully prime the flask with boiling water for two minutes, then empty it before adding your drink. Set it on a stable surface and handle the hot water with care. PurePop’s temperature-retention guidance explains the preparation used in our tests.
2. Add your freshly prepared tea or coffee
Fill straight after brewing, using the preparation temperature that suits your drink. That gives the flask a warm starting point. You do not need to reboil brewed coffee; simply have your drink ready when you empty the priming water.
3. Choose a size your usual drink fills well
A fuller flask generally holds warmth better than a large flask carrying a small serving. Match the capacity to what you plan to drink and leave the space needed for the lid to close properly, following the filling instructions.
If you usually take a modest coffee serving, a mug from the Sip Series may suit your morning. The Core is a useful companion when you want to carry a larger drink to pour into a cup.
4. Close the lid securely
Make sure the lid is correctly fitted and the seal is seated properly. A clean flask and lid make the everyday routine easy: wash gently after use, rinse well and leave the parts open to dry.
5. Keep it closed between pours
Pour what you want into your cup, then close the flask again. Keeping the lid on between breaks helps preserve the warmth for your next refill.
Make the preparation part of your morning
| While you get ready | Your flask routine |
|---|---|
| Start your coffee or rooibos | Prime the Core flask for two minutes |
| Finish packing your bag | Empty the water and add your fresh drink |
| Before you leave | Leave lid clearance, close securely and pack your cup |
For hot and cold drinks, the same starting principle helps: prepare your flask before filling, then add a drink that is already at the temperature you want.
How long does a Core flask keep drinks hot?
The Core Series lists up to 12 hours hot and 18 hours cold. Those figures come from controlled testing; your starting drink temperature, surroundings, fill level and opening routine shape the result in daily use. Our guide to how we measure shows the test setup.
